High in the Allegheny Mountains, Douthat State Park's 4,493 acres embraces some of Virginia's most outstanding mountain scenery. Visitors may enjoy dining at the Lakeview Restaurant, or a quick refreshment at the Beach Snack Bar. You will also find water bikes, paddle boats, canoes and row boats available for rental. Visitors may also bring their own water craft (must be electric powered). There are 30 housekeeping cabins, 2 family lodges, 3 campgrounds with a total of 75 sites (52 with hookups), and 3 picnic shelters. Douthat offers more than 40 miles of hike and bike trails, conference facilities and catering services to its guests. Add to this the spectacular Douthat Lake spillway waterfall and you've got all the ingredients for a breathtaking and memorable family vacation experience. Whether you are looking for a quick overnight or an extended stay, Douthat State Park is conveniently located just 5 miles north off Interstate 64 at exit 27 near Clifton Forge, Virginia. All facilities are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The park is open year round for day use until 10PM. Camping is offered from March through December.
