The Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries has stocked Lake Moomaw
with large-mouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, brown trout, and lake
run rainbow trout. It is responsible for managing the fisheries and enforcing
all fish and game laws within the area.
On Lake Moomaw at Bolar Flat, there is a four lane boat ramp and courtesy dock.
There are four additional fisherman access sites located along Virginia Route
